CENOTES

The Yucatan Peninsula is noted for its famous and spectacular underground rivers, that form a vast labyrinth of passageways and tunnels, flooded with amazing crystal clear water and connected to the exterior through the “cenotes”.

Pre-Requisites:

  • Be a Certified Freediver, available for snorkelers.

Schedule and Cost:

WHALE SHARKS

These giants of the sea migrate every year to Isla Contoy in the north of the Yucatan Peninsula to feed on the plankton in the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea. The season starts in May and ends in September. Just imagine swimming with the largest living fish in the world!

Pre-Requisites:

  • Know how to swim.
  • Available for freedivers and snorkeler.

Schedule and Cost:

  • Full Day: 6:30 am – 4:30pm (Depending in hotel location)

BULL SHARKS

Bull Sharks come to visit Playa del Carmen, from November to February, allowing us to enjoy their beautiful presence. Our roll here is to transmit you the passion and respect we feel for these creatures. Loving them and protecting them. They are here for us and we’ll be there for them. We get the chance once a year of having this spectacular opportunity!

Pre-requisites:

  • Be at least Level 2 EXPERIENCED freediver
  • Freedived with Amancay Freediving at least one time before
  • Be over 18 years’ old

Schedule and Cost:

  • Half a Day: 8:30am – 13:00pm

LOCAL REEF

Going to the open sea is whole experience while freediving. Playa del Carmen offers a wide variety of conditions. The depths run from 10mts to 30mts with an ideal temperature along the year. There are shallow reefs where you’ll get to see lots of different species, as being turtles, parrot fishes, morays ad much more to discover!

Pre-Requisites:

  • Be a certified freedivers,
  • snorkeling trips available.

Schedule and Cost:

  • Half day: 8:30am – 13:00pm (to be confirmed at booking)
  • 90usd – minimum 2 Pax required (All included, full freediving gear, park fees, transportation, certification)

SAIL FISH

Every year in the winter season the Mexican Caribbean becomes the home of the fastest fish in the ocean: The Sailfish. They can reach a speed of 120 km (75 mph). They get their name from their spectacular dorsal fin that is almost as long but a lot higher than their body. Thanks to the abundance of sardines that swim in enormous groups, the sailfish is found in this area.

COZUMEL

Cozumel is one of the most amazing places to do snorkel, freediving and scuba diving. So why miss the chance!? Facing the Riviera Maya with spectacular walls and dramatic drops into the big blue, it’s water with exquisite marine life. Recognized as the second largest coral reef in the world. Where marine life delight your eyes! The Cozumel Reef National Park has been a protected area since 1996. Its colorful marine life attracts divers from all over the world.

  • Know how to swim.
  • Available for snorkelers and freedivers
